Important information for registration!
1. Every natural person from any part of the world can register to the site and upload pictures.
2. Eye of Nature will send an e-mail after registration in order to check the validity of the user's e-mail address. The user will be able to use the 10 MB free web hosting after a confirmation of the e-mail address.
3. We kindly ask every user to indicate (when selecting a language) what is his/her preferred language of communication so that he could receive comments and be world famous soon for his/her best pictures.
4. If you cannot upload pictures but your user name appeared on the site, then you possibly have not confirmed your e-mail address yet.Please check whether your confirmation e-mail is in your spam folder. If not, contact with the editors at admin@eyeofnature.net. Unfortunately you will not be able to upload pics and comment until your final registration as this is the way we can screen users registered with invalid e-mail addresses.
Important information for uploading!
1. The limit for every user is 1 picture/day.
2. For the sake of good quality the resolution of the uploaded photo have to be a minimum of 640 pixels at sides. Larger pictures will be sized automatically (max. 1 MB) or the user will receive an error message regarding the oversize. It is worth to upload pictures in a 961 pixels size at sides as it will look nice on the website. If using Photoshop we can reduce size at the images size function to 961x640 (a proportion of 2:3), then using the cubic sharpen option push the OK. After this in the File menu use the "Save for Web" option. It will result in 95% quality pictures of about 300 KB.

3. On the Eye of Nature website we can share photos of 300 KB to 1 MB. Use the above options for sizing.
4. We kindly ask every user to give a title to their pictures (also in English, if possible) and share the main EXIF data with the other users in order to help each other on the hidden paths of photography.
5. Please inform your fellow users on the circumstances if the shot (in the preferred languages) so that our pictures could gain an international attention.
6. For instance: Title: Magic atmosphere, Canon EOS 50D, 18-55mm, f/8, 1/15sec, ISO 100, tripod, etc. A little additional comment would do good as well. The whole description takes a few minutes but can be really informing and beneficial for other users.
7. For the "Interesting Places in Hungary" and "Interesting Places in the World" we are expecting pictures of those photographers who would share their photo scenes selflessly with others. The best sets can be published on the Nature Photo Magazine's website
What is considered to be a good photo?
It can be subjective, however the editors of Nature Photo Magazine and the moderators of site are all renowned and acknowledged nature photographers so they are able to decide which photos can be considered as faulty and to be deleted. The site has the following quality standards:
1. The photo meets the fundamental composition requirements (trisection rule).
2. The photo should not be over-sharpened, the background should not be blurred. (Use the depth of field properly)
3. Meet the ethical rules of nature photography. (eg. nest photos are not welcome on the site)
4. Animals and plants should be showed in their natural enviroment. Primarily wild species suit to the site's profile.
5. Animals photographed in capture or controlled circumstances should be marked with a "C". It does not detract from the photo's merit but became usual in nature photography competitions.
6. Pictures of domestic animals (eg. dogs, cats) will be deleted and we ask every user to let the moderators know if they come across with such pictures.
6. Garden plants (eg. roses, tulips) will be deleted as well.
7. Please do not upload more than one picture on the same subject as they will be deleted by the moderators. Please select your best pictures at home. In case of repeated breach of this rule can be resulted in a final exclusion.
I cannot upload further pictures
1. You have reached your daily limit of 1 picture.
2. Your picture is either too big or too small. Quality and security are our among our main preferences therefore only picture witha minimum resolution of 640 pixels and a maximum of 1024 pixels can be uploaded to the site. Size limit is from 300 KB to 1 MB.
3. Please comment the pictures frequently. You can get a bonus web hosting after every comment longer than 250 characters from the owner of the commented picture. According to the Eye of Nature's regulations the author of the pictures receives all the comments made by the users and he/she has the chance to give an extra free webhosting by clicking on the BONUS button. That is why it is important to make quality comments, since exchanging different approaches contributes the aim of the site.
